Welcome to Year 6!
Our adults in Year 6 are:

Miss Fletcher - Teaches Friday afternoon
Year 6 is arguably the most important step in your child’s journey at Turton and Edgworth and our aim is to enable the children to learn and develop in such a way as to make the transition from primary school to high school as seamless as possible. I am honoured to be accompanying your children throughout this, their very last year at Turton and Edgworth. Understandably, life will be very busy and we will work incredibly hard, but we will ALWAYS make time for fun on our journey.

Year 6 specifics:
- When the children in school get to year 6, they will be allocated more responsibility in the everyday running of school.
- The children are paired with a reception ‘buddy’ who they spend time with throughout the year and help to grow and build their confidence.
- Our residential trip takes place in April. The children stay away from home for two nights/three days and have an incredible time with their friends taking part in activities such as trapeze, archery and canoeing.
- Year 6 also put together a wonderful production at the end of the year where children showcase their drama, singing and dancing talents.
- Tuck shop days- Monday, Wednesday and Friday
- PE day - Friday
- Homework will consist of spellings, reading and times tables (TT Rockstars)
